About The Future Foundation School | REGENT PARK | REGENT PARK | KOLKATA

The Future Foundation School is founded on the principles and inspired by the light of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother. Guided by Shri Pradyot Kumar Bhattacharya (1905-1984), iconic engineer and trustee of Sri Aurobindo Ashram, Pondicherry, Smt. Joya Mitter 1936- 1999), a devotee and cultural aficionado, founded the school in 1981 and modelled it in the style of the "Gurukul" of ancient times. After her demise in 1999, Shri Ranjan Mitter took charge as Principal and over the past two decades, has transformed the school into a contemporary, future-ready institution. It is an organic extension of a pre-school, Arun Nursery, which was named and blessed by the Mother. Shri Arun Tagore, a reputed lawyer belonging to the famous Tagore family lineage, founded the pre-school, seeking permission of The Mother to do so, who named the school ‘Arun Nursery’, much to his embarrassment. Thus, on September 04, 1972 the pre-school began its journey and from these origins grew The Future Foundation School. The Future Foundation School is a co-educational school and is an initiative of Sri Aurobindo Institute of Culture. The medium of instruction is English. The school is affiliated to the Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi. Children are prepared for the ICSE and ISC examinations. The Future Foundation School provides its K 12 students a future focussed and culturally rooted education. From a modest beginning the school has now grown into a premier educational institution in South Kolkata.

    "TFFS has been home to me since I was two and a half. Blessed by the Divine Presence of Sri Aurobindo and The Mother Mirra Alfassa, it is an institution which promotes inclusivity, sensitivity, integral education and holistic growth. It is known for its excellent infrastructure and incredible faculty. The focus is less on learning facts and more on building a perspective with which we view the world. Pupils are frequently taken on field trips and long-distance school trips in order to inculcate the virtue of responsibility in them. It is also a chance at hands-on-activities. Academics walks hand-in-hand with extra-curricular activities. Students are encouraged to research on topics of their choice independently and engage in cultural activities so that they may find their areas of interest. Back in school, I have been loved and scolded equally, but I have always been given the validation and reassurance that was required as a growing teen.The sanctity of the school is greatly valued by teachers and students alike and there is, of course, a zero-tolerance policy on the disrespect of school ethos. Most of the programmes are student-led, and leadership qualities are nurtured from a young age. It is impossible to describe the beauty of TFFS through a review, but I know for sure, if Tagore had to create Shantiniketan in today's date, he would create TFFS. I would like to thank our Founder Principal Smt. Joya Mitter Ma'am, our Principal Sri Ranjan Mitter Sir, the TFFS faculty and staff and the entire Lakshmi's House fraternity for filling our childhood with sunshine and rainbows like guardian angels.
