The Board saw rapid growth and expansion at the secondary education level, resulting in improved quality and standard of education in institutions. An effect of this in 1952 was that the Board's constitution got expanded. Its jurisdiction extended to part-C and Part-D territories. The present name of the Central Board of Secondary Education came into existence. In the year 1962, finally, the Board was reconstituted.
