    "I consider Narikeldanga George (pre-independence name) High School as one of the best in Kolkata in my time. I joined in class V in 1944 and passed class X exam (no higher secondary those days) in 1950. Our headmaster was respected Shri Prabodh Chandra De who taught English in higher classes. Among other teachers were my mentor Rashbeharibabu Sir (versatile - all subjects) s/s Kedareshwar Bhattacharya (his son Bibhu was my classmate), Atul Chandra Bera (his son Suniti was my classmate), Makhanlal Kundu (his son Hiren, later a poet, was my classmate), Sachinbabu Sir and Tripurababu Sir. Among the students, Samarda (Samarendra Nath Mitra, later a headmaster of the school) was 1 or 2 yrs senior to me. Former Mayor Prashanta Chatterjee was a few years junior to me. Among my classmates was Krishna Nath Chakrabarti, later a professor in Jadavpur University. I vividly remember our centenary(1961) and 125th anniversary celebrations. Now at the age of 88 yrs I fondly look back at the wonderful time we had in our school."

    "This is the Kolkata's one of the Best (in a old times) and oldest school. But Unfortunately in recent times, The school had lost their glory. Infrastructure in this school is not that top notched. This school is only for boys'. Many Almunis and Freedom fighters of India Passed from this school. Teachers are very good and helpful."
