It is situated in the heart of Dumdum and is just 5 minutes walk from DumDum Railway and Metro station. It is situated on Dumdum Road, Chanapatty bus stop and is under the Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Ward IV. It is the only girls higher secondary school of ward IV. The aim of our school is the holistic development of our students. We aim to provide them modern education but also nurture their traditional values and encourage them to explore our country’s rich and varied heritage.

    "It is a Bengali medium, Girls and higher secondary school. It is affiliated with the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and West Bengal Council of Higher Secondary. In spite of Government sponsored school, the teachers are characterized by genuine feelings, free from pretence and deceit. The Head Teacher is especially different from what is about. The local people say that she deserves praise."

    "DUM DUM Govt Sponsored Girls High School is one of the best bengali medium school of Dum Dum .It is situated just beside C.I.T building .One can reach there by 30B or 202 . 5 min walking distance from Dum metro railway station. I had been in this school for completing my Higher secondary education. This school can be the first choice of student because of its location and ambience. The teachers are most friendly and helpful during our time which helped me a lot 🤩😇 It is well maintained my management committee and our honourable Principal Mrs. Rupashree Ghosh mam . Teaching and non teaching staff are takes care of student very much , and also very strict here."
