"Hi, I'm Lokesh, a 12th passout of this school from the 2021 batch. I believe I'm eligible to provide a review about this school, having studied here for 15 years.
This school lacks a playground, and in the name of sports, it only organizes an annual sports day once every 2 years; that was not held last time due to COVID. Regarding indoor games, it only has a chess competition once every 2 years. The school also organizes a cricket tournament, but very rarely, like once every 4 years during my time.
Here, students from class 9 are into party politics; they attend michils and rallies. They brag about calling in 20-30 boys for every little fight 😂. Cigarettes 🚬 and alcohol are common among a few percent of students (not inside the school premises, of course 😂), but yes, you will find students smoking cigarettes in school uniform.
Teachers and faculty - in this school, primary session teachers are average to decent, meaning they are not good, but also not bad. The worst condition is with secondary session teachers, specifically in classes 9th and 10th. Yes, exceptions are there; a few teachers are good, no doubt. But many teachers just show their faces to students so they can get their salary; they have zero intentions of actually teaching something to the students. They treat students like humans treat animals, not physically but in behavior, being rude and arrogant, wanting no complaints. Some teachers also grab students' collars for small mistakes to maintain their so-called "khauf" in the school. And yes, there are teachers who want students to join their private tuitions, saying they would pass them in exams with extra marks. There are legendary teachers like Doraemon 😂 (CPS students would recognize him), and a few others give the complete question paper to students in their private tuitions 😂. So, the first rule of joining this school in the secondary section when you're weak in studies is to take private tuitions from all school teachers and figure out who gives the complete question paper before the exam 😂(like Doraemon).
Now, about the higher-secondary, teachers are again average to decent, meaning they are better than secondary but still not worth it, except a few like RK Mishra for Hindi, Kaushal Kumar, and barely 1-2 more from the commerce and arts side.
This school previously had many good teachers like Naveen sir, Shyon sir, Lipika mam, Mighty sir, and many others, but they left. Also, new teachers who are good at teaching barely teach for 3-4 months max and then leave. The reason is simple; they don't get the respect and regard they deserve for their hard work from both students and teachers or school authorities. Among the remaining, only 20 percent are worth calling decent teachers; the rest are there to mark their presence and take their salary at the end of the month.
Slangs and abusive words are common among students from class 7 onwards. Go for it if you don't want an English medium school on a low budget or want to do self-study and don't want to go to school every day. It's better than other schools in the area but not up to the mark compared to other decent English medium schools in the city.
Today, when I look back, the only soft corner arises in my heart is for the moments I had spent with my friends and not of the teachers, sports, teaching methods, or anything else."

"Really just a family business going on by making parents fool of their school . Teachers except two to three teachers are really good still now respected by me at the highest..... But others are just bull shit they don't know the psychology of students just treat us like a machine to fetch a good amount of money..... Harassed my parents a lot...... Even my friends parents were harassed ..... Even same thing going on with my sister who is studying in this school ..... This school gave me such a trauma that it has now became a nightmare for me every day....... My relationship, family bonding, trust and many things have been affected due some corrupt faculties and the system of the school ....... Some teachers tried me to prove that Iam an abnormal child of my parents and even insulted my father in front of me as I was not that matured couldn't raise voice due to the fear that what would they do to my career....... Really till today roaming with this trauma that i used to go to this school and now letting my sister to go too but just for some few circumstances we and pressurized to send my sister at this school....... Really not proud of my school 😖"

"I was a student of this school from 4th standard to passing out 12th.
I have seen some changes in all the sections of the school in my school life.
How a student will be depends on how he or she is and his/her nurturing is, I really do believe this is a nice school to send your child too.
some of my neighbours child and my niece and nephew are studying here now.
I do think still improvement is required and is improving a lot day by day .
Nevertheless I did like my school days here and passed with good marks ."

"Calcutta Public School is an exceptional institution that has shaped my educational journey. The dedicated faculty, comprehensive curriculum, and supportive environment have helped me grow both academically and personally. Like any school, CPS has its pros and cons, but what sets it apart is the opportunities it provides for students to flourish. As students, it's our responsibility to make the most of these opportunities and contribute to the school's growth, rather than just expecting the school to do everything for us. I'm proud to be a part of the CPS community."

"Not the best school for your child.
They charge high fees but their facilities are dirty, lacking equipment and no ac in this heat. No playground in this school too. It is situated in a very noisy area and full of mosquitoes. Teaching is average here and the teachers give too much pressure to the students."
