About Bidya Bharati Girls High School | NEW ALIPORE | KOLKATA

Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School was established by the Vidya Bharati Society for Educational and Scientific Advancement with a view to explore new horizon with a team of enlightened dreamers. So, fifty good years back on 2nd November, 1965, under the able entrepreneurship of the erudite engineer and scientist, Late Sri P.K. Dasgupta and his wife Smt. Bharati Dasgupta, Bidya Bharati ventured forth on its new journey only with nine students in a rented house at New Alipore, Kolkata. By dint of perseverance and determination, courage and integrity Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School has set up a new milestone in academic and co-curricular fields. At present the three units of Bidya Bharati Girls’ High School-Mominpore & Behala (Primary sections) and New Alipore (Secondary and Higher Secondary sections) stand glorified imparting the light of Knowledge to more than 4500 students. Bidya Bharati Girls’ High school was upgraded to a Higher Secondary School in the year of 1999.

Enjoyed a lot in my childhood but a physical science teacher conspired with a senior maths n few other physical science as I leave her private tuition due to her rude behaviour and bad teaching ruined my life. Till I got first division. Thinking that she is now in school also wht about those little beautiful angels!"

    "Some teachers are nice like they will try to make us understand the concepts while some are just the total opposite. Asking them about some doubts is not really an option as some of them will just get more angry and it scares away the students. The staffs, peons are not so nice to the students. If an exam is coming, the syllabus is given only 6 days before while the syllabus is completed 2 or 3 days prior to the exam. It causes a real problem among students. They change sections every 2 years from class 5 so it is really hard to make friends atleast for introverts. The pressure for studies is like a lot and the headmistress is not so nice to both parents and students. The headmistress gives a lot of mental pressure to the parents and students. From Class 5, students are told to learn maths from KC Nag which has tons of hard problems. Thus it creates fear for maths. Even top students chose Arts/Commerce over Science for their fear of maths. I was admitted to this school after learning that this school has a good reputation. Till primary school, we did have pressure in studies but it was bearable and studying felt good. But after coming to this high school, I highly regret it. If I had an option, I would've gone to a CBSE school but due to Covid, I couldn't."
