In the year 1990, the Christian Managing Committee of Barrackpore Sacred Heart Education Society established Sacred Heart Day School. The school was started with the sole object of providing high standard and value oriented education to the students eager to study under the esteemed cuuriculum of West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. After twelve years of endless endeavours,obstacles, and total commitment, the school finally won its battle and gained the prestigious affiliation and recognition from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education. On 20th Aug.2003, the Hon’ble Minister of Finance,W.B., Mr.Ashim Dasgupta,M.P.Mr. Tarit Baran Topder and MLA Mrs. Manju Basu laid the foundation stone, for the Junior High School affiliation. That was a day when all at Sacred Heart had a heart full of pride and eyes beaming with joy. On 4th Aug, 2007, the Honourble Minister of Higher Education Mr. Sudarshan Roy Chowdhury inaugurated our Secondary School affiliation and finally on the 5th of Aug 2011, the Honourble Minister of Youth Affairs Mr. Ujjal Biswas and Honourble Minister of Transport and sports Mr. Madan Mitra laid the foundation stone for the H.S unit. Today with the co-operation and whole – hearted support of our students, guardians, teachers and staff, Sacred Heart is rapidly surging ahead with the positive plans of guaranteeing not only excellent Madhyamik results but also exceptional brilliance in the Higher Secondary Division. In its zeal to spread advanced education, Sacred Heart Day School is now also an affiliated study center under the Directorate of Distance and continuing Education.
