There is no denying the significant link between nutrition, health, and learning: one of the three key elements that affect a child's development is nutrition.

Studies have shown that a child's health and academic achievement later in life are related to the nutrition they receive in their early years.

In the years when children are growing and developing, a healthy, nutritious diet is crucial. It helps create in the child a solid foundation for maintaining health and ingraining excellent dietary habits from an early age.

Early childhood nutrition has three key advantages: it boosts a child's ability to fight off infectious diseases, promotes healthy brain and other organ development, and enhances their level of activity and cognitive ability. Because it prepares them for a lifetime of maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle, appropriate nutrition for children is crucial.

About the Guest Speaker:

Dr. Bani Tamber Aeri, Professor, Department of Food and Nutrition, at IHE, Delhi University.

For the past seven years, Dr. Aeri has been affiliated with the Institute and has been teaching nutrition to undergraduate and graduate students.

She is interested in working on issues related to improving maternal nutrition, particularly micronutrient malnutrition, and thereby improving the pregnancy outcome as well as working on lifestyle-related disorders and finding solutions for preventing them.

She worked in the area of maternal nutrition as part of the Ph.D. work. She has supervised four M.Sc. dissertations and is currently supervising two Ph.D. students.
