About Kinfolk Montessori Preschool | BASAVANNA NAGAR | HOODI | BENGALURU

    "Amazing environment and infrastructure.. so much attention to every detail. They have so many ways to engage parents in the process We could observe our kid for a day There was an amazing sports day organised at a full fledged sports facility. There was Nutrition seminar for parents.. School always communities everything well in advance!"

    "For a school that takes great pride in following a Montessori pedagogy, it was anything but. Before we could even enter the building, we noticed all the children were made to sit on the staircase with the bags on their tiny shoulders for 20-30 mins from 12:30pm to 12:50pm as it was time for them to leave. They weren’t even ‘ALLOWED’ to stand up (please mind these are 2-4 year olds). A staff/teacher was constantly yelling at them for standing and moving. If any parents of students going to kinfolk are reading this, please be wary of this fact that there’s a reason they don’t share CCTV footage. It looked more like a ‘REGIME’ than a Montessori play-school. We went in for an enrolment of my child (3 year old) in Mont2. The centre admin wanted to ‘ASSESS’ the child and was rejected on the following grounds: 1. She was asked to identify phonetic sounds - I mentioned she hasn’t been taught that and they proceeded to insult my child for not knowing this. 2. They asked her to ‘WRITE’ numbers upto 10 with a pencil. The centre admin literally shoved a pencil and blank paper in her hand. From what l have heard and read, Montessori pedagogy is based on self paced learning and gives them writing tools after the age of 5/6. Till then they are asked to trace. 3. THEY ASKED IF MY 3 YO COULD WRITE IN CURSIVE!! When my daughter couldn’t do any of this, the centre admin proceeded to criticise her current school with a lot of negatives that they can’t give her an admission as she WONT be able to COPE. My daughter was terrified and felt very uncomfortable. We left feeling confused and disappointed(because that’s not what we thought Montessori would mean) as we had high hopes based on the ratings and the campus. You may say the grapes are sour and I am bitter because of this, but after talking to multiple people, I was assured that not all Montessori schools are like this."

My son has been here for two years and the journey has been truly enriching. His teachers Vani ma’am, Tanu Ma’am and Srividya ma’am have all been really supportive and encouraging in his journey. Their emphasis on socio emotional growth and practical life skills along with academics is what sets them apart."

    "This is the best school. Their way of teaching is different than the regular schools, which helps children learn the basics while experiencing it. We are happy that we chose this school for our daughter.Teachers are doing a great job. The ambience is the best, you can never see a school like this in Bangalore city,its in the midst of greens."
