Chowringhee High School has strived very hard to move with time and has created its own identity in the School fraternity of Kolkata providing all the necessary facilities to its staff & students. Great Educationists have defined a complete School as the one which possesses all the four pillars necessary for a building to stand. These four pillars are : 1) Academic Structure 2) Extra-curricular activities 3) Discipline and 4) Social Service. Chowringhee High School is such a school which sets itself into the above category. A school whose motto is “By Love Serve One Another” admits students into its fold from all walks of life. Students from different classes, creeds and religions study in the same platform. The founders of the school Ms. Kumudini Mehrotra and late Ms. Meera Singh visualised a dream in 1964 of taking the school to higher heights and for this a trust was formed in the name of “Meera Singh Education Trust” which took over the school to impart education to every child irrespective of caste, creed or religion. The objective of the school now is to provide the children all that they need for their all round development – academics, sports, exhibitions, participation in intra-school events – like dance competition, quiz, art competition, road safety training etc. The school is now realising the dream of its founders “and be it from academics to sports, excursions to exhibitions, intra-school competitions to inter-school activities, promotions of communal harmony to social services, now it has all. The school has been getting honours from various organisations – like The Indian Chamber of Commerce, The Telegraph Education Foundation, Kolkata Police, Horlicks Whiz Kids, Rotary International and more. Our school is both very young in Body & Spirit. With a big heart and with the path shown by Ms. Meera Singh – We still have miles to go.
