St. Charles High School is a Religious Unaided Minority Institution established in 1996 by the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo. The school is located in Bangalore, India and caters primarily to the Catholic community. However, from the very beginning, the school has been open to all communities regardless of caste or creed. The institution operates under Art. 30 (1) of the Indian Constitution and is managed by the Allard Educational Society, which is registered under the Mysore Societies Registration Act No. 17 of 1960.
The Congregation of the Sisters of St. Charles Borromeo was founded in 1684 by Fr. Adrien Bresy, a parish priest of Wez in the Diocese of Tournai, Belgium. Fr. Bresy's vision was to impart Christian education to the poor children of his parish. He chose St. Charles Borromeo, an illustrious cardinal of Milan who had inspired him, as the patron of the congregation. Fr. Bresy wished that the Sisters would follow in St. Charles Borromeo's footsteps, live up to his ideals, and be guided by his way of life.
