Sacred Heart Girls' High School is managed by the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, a congregation founded by St. Mary Euphrasia Pelletier. St. Mary was known for her deep love for humanity and for valuing each person's uniqueness. In 1854, five sisters from France came to Bangalore and established various works of the Good Shepherd, including a boarding and day school for Europeans and Anglo-Indians, which they named Sacred Heart High School. The Sisters of the Good Shepherd Convent and the staff of Sacred Heart Girls' High School work together to promote the total and integrated development of each student in her uniqueness, forming strong characters with high principles grounded in truth. Education, as St. Mary Euphrasia believed, should develop the physical, psychological, social, aesthetic, and spiritual aspects of a person to the fullest. The school also focuses on developing the spirit of learning and sharing with the less fortunate, promoting faith formation through value-oriented education, enabling every person to become an agent for the promotion of justice, peace, and love, and creating a conscious awareness of the duty to preserve our planet. All these efforts make Sacred Heart Girls' High School a life-enhancing resource center. The school sends students for the ICSE Examination every year, with brilliant academic results.
