Lourdes School is managed by the Archdiocesan Board of Education in Bangalore. The school's Manager and Correspondent is the Parish Priest of St. Theresa's Church. The institution is situated in Cubbonpet where a small chapel dedicated to Our Lady of Lourdes once stood. In 1947, the school began its operations. Later, the little chapel was relocated to a new place in J.C. Road where the present St. Theresa Church stands. As the number of students increased, the building was gradually improved by Rev. Fr. John Castelino, and then by his successor, Rev. Fr. I. Anthappa who upgraded the school to a High School level for both Boys and Girls. Other managers have also made significant contributions to upgrading the institution.
