Our school follows the curriculum set out by the Ontario Ministry of Education. We have a highly acclaimed curriculum content and teacher training program, which enables us to enhance the curriculum in order to include student interests and make the class experience more exciting, interactive, and engaging. By differentiating curriculum content, we motivate students by piquing their interest in a particular area and encouraging further learning. Our teachers emphasize the importance of organizational skills and teach students methods to achieve their goals.
We believe that every child is valued. Our teachers and educational assistants are dedicated to making our students feel safe, meaningful, and valued. We create a stimulating atmosphere that supports risk-taking and encourages students to express their ideas, which helps our students become curious, confident and independent learners. We recognize that each student is unique and take the time to get to know their strengths and identify any areas of concern. This allows our teachers to successfully adapt programs for individual needs, setting realistic expectations for further growth in a subject area or enriching the curriculum to provide a more challenging course.
We keep parents and guardians up-to-date through regular communication in progress reports and our parent section of Edsby. Our teachers are always available to answer any questions from students or parents and ensure that all of our students feel confident in their studies. We place a strong emphasis on ensuring good communication between home and school, which parents appreciate. Additionally, the Principal communicates regularly through newsletters.
